It's definitely a good book, but with big problems too. If your purpose is understanding anatomy and enjoying it then this is definitely a killjoy. But it is an excellent book to prepare for exams.
At the start of the year people will badmouth the book and with good reason. It's diagrams are bad, it throws information at you in massive amount and it's hyper-regional approach makes it terrible if you are trying to create a complete view of your topic. But at the end of the year the very same people will have their noses buried in BDCs
BDC is a very nice book if your approach towards the subject is correct. It provides all the information in a presentable format which is easy to learn. All enumerates are enlisted and clinical concepts are highlighted separately.
Diagrams might be a bit difficult to replicate but your repeated efforts will overcome this hurdle. Moreover the language is pretty easy to understand and retain for long. There is a proper balance between technical and layman terms to facilitate imagination.
Labelled cadaver pictures are amazing and helps during vivas. This book also provides a few mnemonics and facts to learn the important stuff. Every thing is given in separate headings which makes this book wonderful for writing answers in exams.
If you feel the need, I do recommend using Gray’s Anatomy for understanding the diagrams! Those are beautiful illusteations which help you see the structures not even visible in dissections. Apart from that BDC is pretty much sufficient for a UG student.
